Hey "Mo", Why you "So Lo"?

(SoLoMO something else entirely.)

Given the beast, our industry naturally thrives on convergence.  Nothing stands a chance if it stands alone.  


So, savvy industry experts know that when concepts converge neatly they become a bulls-eye for modern mad men/mad women. 


The key here is "converge".  The term does not mean "to mix unique items in order to create a separate item.  It's a collaborative overlapping nexus like term.


That means, if you feel inspired to do this with other terms...and simply combine everything into mixing bowl, get ready to eat what you bake. 



And so, here we go....SoLoMo.


Brought into the world at SxSW. the term SoLoMo is a convergent term - a combination of three powerful social systems:  Social Local and Mobile.  


These three areas of focus are considered to be a part of the modern engagement puzzle.  And it's not so much that they combine to make a fourth tool, but they each individually serve a specific purpose or variation that leads someone to a point where they are wholly engaged,


In other words, it's how we gang up on customers.  IT's a multidimensional all over-directional attack they'll never see coming.  


.....it's warfare, but hardly fair.


Companies that pursue all three concurrently have been told to prepare for massive returns.  ("It's a powerful approach to connecting with customers", they say.)  But why?  and is it?


 Let's take a look....

  • LOCAL:  WHAT IS IT AND WHY IT MATTERS
  • MOBILE:  WHAT IS IT AND WHY IT MATTERS
